PDA83 (Personal Data Assisant for the TI-83)
By Juan Corral (dragonmon@yahoo.com). 1998 Juan Corral. All Rights Reserved.
v0.1 Beta (the beta is in BASIC)
Readme and release by Lord Unigamer (lord-unigamer@usa.net). Released with Permission.
PLEASE READ DISCLAIMER BEFORE USING. USE OF THIS PROGRAM CONSTITUTES A FULL ACCEPTANCE OF THE DISCLAIMER.

What this program does (at least in the beta) is very simple. It lets you store information you wish to type into the memory in an efficient manner, and makes it simple to read it. (not like some of those piece of crap Notepad programs that won't even let you scroll the string if you type a lot!)

FOR BEGINNER USERS (ADVANCED USERS SEE BELOW):

Installation:
If you are reading this file, I trust that you have already unzipped the program file & readme. After that, send the file PDA83.83g to your TI-83 calculator. (or should I call it the TI-83 Compact Entertainment System??? Hmmm...)

Operation:
You may run this program with or without SOS. If you choose to run it from SOS, follow the instructions for SOS and select PDA83 from the menu. If you opt to run it without SOS, hit PRGM in the middle of your TI-83 keypad, use the down key to scroll down to the file called PDA83, and press ENTER twice.

After that, you are ready to punch in some data! To put in some data for a save slot, put the little arrow by it and press the + key. Then press 2ND, then ALPHA. This will put the calc in alpha lock mode. The keys will have a small green letter printed by them. Press the keys that you need to press to type out your data. (It can be as long as you want! Skys the limit!) When you are done, press the ENTER key.

To view a save slot, put the little arrow by it and press the ENTER key. This will display the contents of that save slot. If it is more than 15 letters, press the right or left arrow keys to scroll. When you are done, press ENTER.

To delete a save slot, put the little arrow by it and press the - key.

To exit program and return to either SOS or the home screen, press the CLEAR key on the main screen.

FOR ADVANCED USERS:
+ key adds data
- key deletes data
ENTER key reviews data
CLEAR key exits program on main screen.

Technology:
This program uses strings 1-7. It has a graphical interface and the ability to scroll, and the beta is written in TI-BASIC. Future versions will be written in assembly.

FUTURE VERSIONS:
v1.0: Will be written in Assembly, will include a scheduler/organizer and real-time clock routine (the clock will not drain your battery very fast).

SUGGESTIONS BY AUTHOR/RELEASER:
I (Lord Unigamer) strongly suggest that you NEVER keep any sensitive information in your calc. If you keep any semi-sensitive information in there (like maybe a friend's number, locker number, etc.), I strongly suggest that you use a password protection program. IF YOU KEEP ANY SENSITIVE INFORMATION IN THIS CALC, REMEMBER THE DISCLAIMER BELOW! Always keep any information you want to keep but want to keep handy somewhere else written down, as well as in PDA83.

FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS:
Send them either to the author, Juan Corral (dragonmon@yahoo.com); or to the releaser, Lord Unigamer (lord-unigamer@usa.net). Juan Corral's email is checked on weekends, and checks of Lord Unigamer's box might be more often. Email sent to Lord Unigamer reguarding PDA83 will be forwarded to Juan Corral, and will be mentioned to him in school, so Lord Unigamer's address might get the word out faster.

THANK YOU FOR USING PDA83.
