Assorted Stuff
--------------

If you make copies of the Red Storm Rising disks, make sure that
they are named "RedStormA" and "RedStormB" (not "copy of RedStorm...").

Some mouse-blanking programs (QMouse, in particular) will blank the
mouse cursor while you're trying to aim weapons. Most annoying...

On 512K systems, it is recommended that you boot from the 'Red Storm
A' disk and that you disconnect any external disk drives. ( It seems
to run OK with an external drive, but it's pretty tight. Don't say I
   didn't warn you...)

Memory Usage
------------

Red Storm Rising will multi-task happily on your Amiga, but it, if
given the chance, will use a lot of memory. The program will use a
little over a megabyte of RAM if it available for storing code and
data. The breakdown is pretty much like this:

   RedStorm Sees It Caches
   ------------- ---------
   < ~420K Nothing, it punts.
   > ~650K Code
   > ~950K Code, Sounds, Pictures
   > ~1040K Code, Sounds, Pictures and Animations

Also note that Red Storm needs at least ~240K of graphics (CHIP) ram.

Hard Disk Installation
----------------------

To install Red Storm Rising onto a hard disk, double-click on the
"RSRHDInstall" icon on Disk A. You will be prompted for a directory in
which to place the Red Storm Rising files (this directory will be
created). After it has finished copying the files, you will need to put
the following 3 statements into S:Startup-Sequence:

assign RedStormA: <Wherever you put it>
assign RedStormB: <Wherever you put it>
assign RedStormSave: <Wherever you put it>

where <Wherever you put it> is the directory path that you specified
   for the RSRHDInstall Program.

If you know what you're doing, you may prefer simply to copy all of the
files from the root directories of the two Red Storm disks into a
directory on your hard disk, and then to make the aforementioned
assignments. The "SOUNDS" file on both disks is the same and need only
   be copied once.

Note to A1000 owners
--------------------

Red Storm Rising uses the Amiga's 64-color "Extra-HalfBrite"
graphics mode. This mode is not supported on some older A1000's. The
game will still run correctly, but some of the pictures will not look as
good as they would on a newer machine.
