Last minute information on Knights of the Sky.

Read this first !

1. Memory.
~~~~~~~~~~
   Like all MicroProse products, Knights of the Sky is an extremely
complex and advanced simulation. It requires large amounts of
disk space and memory to run. If you experience problems with getting
the game to load, it's most likely that you're running out of
memory. In that case, try removing all external disk-drives and other
peripherals you have attached to your Amiga. This will free up as
much memory as possible for Knights of the Sky to run.
2. Modem play.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   Knights of the Sky DOES support modem play!
Your modem must support the standard Hayes command set and be capable
of full duplex 1200 or 2400 baud operation. During testing, it was
found 2400 is the best baud rate. Faster baud rates would actually
slow the game down, without gaining any accuracy.
   For your convenience, Knights of the Sky will remember up to five
of your most used names and phone numbers. Refer to your modem manual
for how to set up and use your modem.
   Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that Knights of the Sky
modem play works with all modems and phone systems, if you should
experience any difficulties please feel free to contact MicroProse UK.

3. NULL Modem cable.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   With Knights of the Sky you can link two computers via a NULL
modem cable for a head to head game. This cable can be bought in most
good computer stores, or you can make one yourself. For this you will
need two 25-pin female D-type connecters. The schematics for the NULL
modem cable are as follows :
   Connector 1       Connector 2
      pin #             pin #
        2-----------------3
        3-----------------2
        7-----------------7
4. Instant replays.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   When an Instant Replay occurs, you'll be shown a menu where you
can either select START REPLAY or RETURN TO GAME. At this point, or
at any time during the replay, you can select any of the views
available to you in the game. (see manual, page 20 and 21.)

5. Mouse control.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   In flight, when you are using the mouse to control your plane, you
can use the joystick to control the rudder.
6. Analog joystick control.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   To select analog joystick control, press the ALT/J key during
flight. When you are playing with an analog joystick, use the
keyboard in the campaign section of the game.

7. Stretching screens.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   You can stretch your display to fit the full screen by clicking on
the STRETCH SCREEN icon. As this uses an undocumented hardware feature
it might not work on all Amigas.
8. Playing from floppy disk.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   Knights of the Sky requires no disk swaps during play! Only while
loading you'll be asked to swap disks. After that, disk 2 should not
be removed from the disk-drive!
   When you want to make a backup of your original disks, use the
program supplied on the game disks. Do not use the WorkBench or any
other diskcopy program.
   You should keep your original disks in safe place and only play
the game from a backup copy. For safety reasons, when you are playing
from the original disks the game will not save the roster.

9. Hard-disk installation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   To install Knights of the Sky on your hard-disk, enter the
WorkBench from the hard-disk. Then insert Knights disk one, and click
on the HardDiskInstall icon. Follow the on-screen prompts. The
installation program will copy all relevant files from the floppy
disks to your hard-disk. When installation is complete, the
installation program will add the following lines to your
startup-sequence :
   ASSIGN KOTS1: 'YourKnightsGameDrawer'
   ASSIGN KOTS2: 'YourKnightsGameDrawer'
	These lines are added so that the Knights of the Sky program knows in
which drawer its files are stored. Now reboot your Amiga for these
ASSIGNS to take effect.
