A WORD FROM THE AUTHOR:

Oh dear! I'm so sorry for my absence from the patching scene for the last
9 months ;-) Unfortunately university work took ahold of my priorities
fairly rapidly. However, this marks among the first of my official releases
in the summer of 2003, and I intend to make a fair few more this summer.
Whether I succomb to university again from this September remains to be
seen, but perhaps I'll be able to juggle everything more successfully
next time. (He says in vain...)

This game made it into my originals collection through a haul on eBay a
while back. Despite its obvious simplicity, Hot Rod has actually grown on
me a little since I started playing it.

Infact, the protection check on the original version made this game
totally unplayable on 020+ systems, as well as Ben Daglish's unique (and
diabolical) routines.

I'm supporting cracks openly because originals of games like this are
gradually becoming more scarce. Since the original of Hot Rod uses a
custom disk format, the install would be unusable for 95% of people
otherwise. Aside from the custom format, the game actually uses a friendly
offset/length system for picking where to load from. The MAD cracker for
some reason felt the need to change this to a sector-based system (WHY?!)

Oh well... Enjoy!

Greetings to Codetapper, Mad Matt, Captain HIT, Wepl and the rest of
the WHDLoad team!
